The number of beds for such a facility forms one of the first parameters for the design of such a hut.

2 – Bivi and standard climbing party, but not big enough to justify a full hut.
4 – More social size climbing group, minimum expectation of users.
6 – Club trip size hut party or two larger groups sharing the hut.
8 – A relatively large hut unutilised most of the time.
10 – Large hut beyond the requirements and financial constraints of the project.

Considering the possible options results in four mattresses as the most realistic sleeping capacity. Two bench bunks could give the greatest flexibility in terms of different climbing groups, and also actually allow for a capacity of eight in an emergency.
